"OLD CHRISTMAS, NEW ENGLAND"
Holiday Songs of New England with Kris Paprocki
Friday, December 15, 2023 at 6 pm
Live at the Pembroke Library or on Zoom
Local music teacher, Kris Paprocki will perform historic songs of the season, reflecting on the changing attitudes New Englanders had towards Christmas from the 17th to the early 20th centuries. There will be well-known favorites as well as songs rarely performed, including music from the 18th century composer James Lyon of Machias. Kris will perform on guitar, violin, and button accordion, and there will be plenty of opportunities for the audience to sing along.
Kris Paprocki is the music teacher at Pembroke, Perry and Charlotte Elementary Schools as well as the program coordinator at the Pembroke Historical Society. He has been performing the music of Maine locally for over a decade.
Locals are encouraged to attend the program live at the library. To register on Zoom, please visit https://www.pembrokehistoricalsociety.org/events and click on the registration link to fill out the form. For further questions, please contact Kris Paprocki at programs@pembrokehistoricalsociety.org.
